When the telephone keeps on ringing

If the company phone lines are all occupied and another caller rings you, what happens? Perhaps the question should be what normally happens to the call? The answer will probably outline how the caller got frustrated hanging on the line, hung up the phone and proceeded to call elsewhere. Hopefully not your competitors.
Another instance is the client or potential customer who telephones the company outside normal working hours. Usually what happens? Yes the telephone keeps on ringing.
On the end of the line the caller hears the ring tone, no Phone Messages just ring tone. Nothing else. No greeting, no apology and no invitation to call back during normal hours. This lack of consideration for customers might be sufficient impetus for callers to take their business elsewhere.
Tell your customers how much you care
During a working day there are times your phones are all going to be occupied. After work hours the phones are unmanned. Individual staff member’s telephones will be left unattended during comfort breaks or at meal times.
So what can a company do to counteract these situations. The answer is simple. Have your company phone system equipped with a package of Phone Messages prepared by Media Group.
The package will include a Greeting Message, an On Hold Program featuring music, as well as product messages and seasonal announcements. There should be an After Hours Message and this may include an invitation to record call back details plus the reason for the call and a request for a call back.
Customers will appreciate your consideration and usually respond favourably.
Sound like you mean business
From the moment you receive a call from a client or potential new customer, you want them to be impressed with your way of doing business. You don’t want them left hanging on the line.
Remember first impressions not only count, they tend to be cemented in memory and will continue to impact on decisions for a long time.
A well written, expertly recorded and professionally spoken telephone message can mean the difference between winning and holding a client or losing an account.
Don’t go leaving callers wallowing in an abyss of mystery. Media Group the business audio specialists, will refine a package of messages to exactly suit your operations. Check it out at www.mediagroup.com.au

What you hear is sadly too often all you get

There is a vast difference between listening to a professional Voice Artist and hearing an amateur who has a good speaking voice. In the world of advertising it can mean the difference between communicating the benefits of a particular brand and failing to convert a potential buyer.
The trained professional Voice Artist understands the finer nuances of reading a script. The amateur may read well, and listening to the live performance you may even think the result is satisfactory.
However when recorded and you hear the playback the amateur’s read will often sound flat and unconvincing. You’ll think something is not quite right. That’s because the professional will add that certain “je ne sais quoi’.
Practice makes perfect
Even the professional Voice Artist may attempt several takes to read a script. One of the most common phrases you’ll hear in a recording studio goes something like “That was good, now do it again”.
The producer might feel the emphasis on a single word needs adjusting. The Voice Artist will read the line a few more times and subtly vary the delivery of that one word without changing anything else. Most amateurs are unable to achieve such a precise change and will tend to alter their delivery with every take.
Putty in the hands of the Studio Producer
When the copywriter penned the script he or she will have had the “feel” of the read in their head. The Studio Producer is responsible for directing the voice talent to deliver the writer’s vision.
The direction might require a warm and friendly read. If the product featured is a medical service the voice will need to have a responsible, caring style. Every script will require interpretation. It’s the Voice Artist who must have the flexibility and the acting skills to satisfy these variations.
Choosing a voice to suit the task
The only way to judge if a Voice Artist is right for your particular project is to listen to their previous work. This is where Media Group, the business audio specialists can provide the service you need.
Media Group have on their books a tremendous assortment of professional male and female voice over talent. On the website you can hear samples of these voices on their previous recordings.
Everything happens online
Without moving more than an index finger you can audition as many voices as you need to. Plus when you have chosen a favourite or two you can ask for a free online quote.
If you are still uncertain about the choice you have made you can request Media Group to prepare a free demo. The only provision is you must be planning to record a script or number of scripts that will run at least 60 seconds in total.
Forward a copy of your script and Media Group will have your preferred talent record an extract. When completed you will receive a link to go online and review the free demo.
